Low Impact Development
COURSE GOAL
Low impact development (LID) is a suite of stormwater and land development strategies at the parcel or subdivision scale that emphasizes conservation and use of on-site natural features integrated with engineered, small scale hydrologic controls to more closely mimic pre-development hydrologic conditions. LID practitioners create and implement designs that minimize water consumption and water quality degradation associated with residential development while maximizing human and wildlife amenities. The goal of this workshop is to increase knowledge of LID principles and practices as part of an effort to reduce the barriers to its implementation in Florida.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The course is for professional engineers, landscape architects, architects and planners who have an interest in implementing low impact development.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS AVAILABLE
This course provides 8 PDHs for professional engineers, 8 CEUs for landscape architects and architects (FBPEexp4040 / BOLA 0008093 / AR 9877432) and 6.0 credits of AICP Certification Maintenance (CM) for planners.
