Green Communities: Responding to HB 697

COURSE GOAL

In 2008, the Florida Legislature enacted House Bill 697. This bill requires local governments to address energy issues in their comprehensive plans and became effective on July 1, 2008. The Florida Department of Community Affairs now requires all comprehensive plan amendments to address the provisions of HB 697. The University of Florida's Urban and Regional Planning Department, a PAB-accredited graduate planning program, has developed an introductory course to improve understanding of HB 697.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

The course is designed for professional planners and planning officials who are interested in developing green communities in compliance with HB 697.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS AVAILABLE

This course is certified for AICP Certification Maintenance (CM) credits (3.0 Credits).
